Amazons do enjoy their baths. Thanks for sharing the images and giving us an update that things are going better.

Wow! I'm really glad to hear how things are going with you and your Zon!!! I too got my Zon from not the greatest of situations. He was missing a lot of feathers some from plucking (him and other birds) and a lot from his breeders miss handling. I know it sounds odd, BREEDER! Well, In no time at all, it seems, he has completely turned around!

When I first got him, he was missing a LOT of feathers. Was terrified of hands, movement and loud noises. Trying to get him to step up resulted in MANY bloody holes in my hand. I would have tried to teach him to step up on a perch first, but he was so much more afraid of that I was afraid he'd hurt himself, so I just took the bites.

Now my little Booger (Pancho A.K.A. The Feather Duster) begs to step up! Sings along (horribly) with my music, hangs upside down from my hand screaming "Oh Nooooo!" and laughing while I tickle him. Loves his toys so much, he comes with me to the pet store to pick them out! Warms up to new people in an instant and is now a VERY welcome (almost mandatory) site at my office. And will chase you around making kissy sounds begging for more cuddles.

Zons are amazing little birdies. They're capable of quite a lot, and for such a small body they have huge hearts with room for a little spare forgiveness. I'm really glad you found him. I'm sure he will brighten your lives for many years to come, as I believe you have already done for him. Good job!

-- I did the research, and a completely different Fid picked me anyway! Say Hello to Pancho Buffett!

Thanks for your the story about your guy!! My husband snow plows in the winter and here in IL we have been getting hit pretty hard. I was iced in this morning and could not get into my car so I stayed home. My husband came home and went directly to bed. I let everyone out and to their areas and was cleaning cages. Murphy was walking down the hallway and I didnt think anything about it. He gets agressive with my hubby oops.... and he ended up getting into bed with him. The next thing I hear is Murphy saying come here....come here.... Then the hubby screaming HONEY!!!!!!!! LOL I went to the rescue all the while LMAO. I just let him be and if he wants to explore the house I let him and he will often follow me or the hubby around saying come here...come here. He is a joy that is for sure. The only time I have gotten into a situation with him was once when he flew and landed on my husband. He was fine while on my husband, but I didnt want it to turn ugly because he gets aggressive towards him, which is weird because originally he seemed to like my hubby more. Well anyhow I asked him to step up and he did then proceeded to get very upset and took a few chunks out of my hand.

I just read his body language the best I can and give him some love and understanding.

Gosh I really shouldnt have taken a nap this afternoon I cannot sleep now LOL
