Hey everyone!! As requested I have posted pictures of my 13 week old Sun, Green Cheek Conure Hybrid, named Batty Coda (Coda for short). These pictures do not do his colors justice. He is a beautiful baby. He has a lot of green in varying shades. His flight feathers are bright blue, under his wings is yellow, around is head and beak is a great reddish brown color, and his tail feathers are a green, orange color. Naturally we won't know for a couple of years if is color will mature into a bright yellow like a Sun or remain green. As you can tell from the second picture, Coda is also handicapped. He has no toes on his right foot. This a birth defect not something the parents' did after he hatched.
Hope everyone enjoys the pictures.

| Oh wow! Definitely figured he'd be green, but he sure has other colors coming through! And I have no doubt, that when he starts going through his first molt, that he WILL get brighter!!! Im eager now to see what he'll appear like as an adult! If you don't mind though, I'd love to snag the photos to use in my "rare hybrids" album! http://smg.photobucket.com/albums/0903/MonicaNFids/Hybrids/

MFids (7/7/2007) Oh wow! Definitely figured he'd be green, but he sure has other colors coming through! And I have no doubt, that when he starts going through his first molt, that he WILL get brighter!!! Im eager now to see what he'll appear like as an adult! If you don't mind though, I'd love to snag the photos to use in my "rare hybrids" album! http://smg.photobucket.com/albums/0903/MonicaNFids/Hybrids/ [offtopic]Wow! I knew about sunday and catilina hybrids; but I never knew they could get out of the general species group, like gallah/cockatiels and sun/hahns! Wow, just wow.[/offtopic] Back to the subject. He sure is darling! He looks very cuddly. You'll have to post more picture of him after his first molt, they'll for-surely be brighter!

| Technically speaking, cockatiels belong to the same family as cockatoos... thus they are the smallest members of the cockatoo family.... Ever wonder why their names start with "cockat"? They may not have been put in the same genus however it is a proven fact that they are closely enough related to reproduce. As for conures and macaws... well the sun/hahns in an aratinga (which is said to mean "little macaw") while the macaw is an ara.... and there's also a nanday (nandayus - do wonder why it's in it's own species listing) and a hahns... of course there is another who is said to be a "mini macaw" hybrid but we'll never know for sure. Birdiegirl, thanks a bunch!

What a cutie!! Thanks for sharing. Conures are my favorite birds. My friend just adopted a brown throat sun conure hybrid. I will have to get a picture of him to share. Keep posting pics, I would love to see him again after his first molt!!

WOW, that macaw in MFids album looks beautiful!!! It's a cross between a hyacinth and a b/g, and it looks like they took the head of a hyacinth and put it on a b/g! Absolutely stunning!
