Madelyn (maddie for short) is a 1 year old Sun Conure. She's a little temperamental, but she can be very sweet when she wants to be. She loves to play with bells and enjoys preening the stubbles on my face when I let my beard grow out.

Jerry is an 8 month old Peach-Faced Lovebird. He's very easily frightened and he's not quite tame yet. I want to get some close-up shots of his tail feathers, as they are unlike any of the other Lovebirds I've seen. Lots of bright blues with stripes of white/black/orange/red.

here is a short video of one of our baby birds from work. He is a blue indian ringneck born early this year. he weaned awhile ago, but when he first came in he made this noise all the time to beg for food... now we find it quite funny how he uses it to "talk" to us and get our attention.

Well, instead of cluttering the picture forum with with many updates on Igor I thought I would make one post and just continually update it!

I took Igor to the vet again for a follow up and he is still on the trimeth-sulfate whatever, his foot is doing MUCH better! Both his feet are the same size again!! And I bought a natural spectrum light bulb from the vet, just until I can afford the whole sunlamp. He is pretty much converted to Harrison's and the sweet potato worked like a charm- he really likes that. The vet also said to moisten the Harrison's with a little grape juice so I now have Organic Concord Grape juice for him as a treat as well. He is doing so well today! He has chirped more today than he has in two weeks!

The vet also wants weekly pictures of him and I'm happy to oblige.

Hi All. A friend's mom acquired this bird (I don't know all the details yet) and we have no idea what kind it is. I was thinking Red-Throated Conure, but haven't seen a single pic of one with markingson the wing, and the head is maybe too square for a conure. Thought Jardine's but not with that long tail...I'm stumped. Help!

I drove a couple hours this past weekend to pick up a cage I found on craigslist for my illigers macaw, andi. Found a good deal on it and it's in good condition. A good cleanup and now andi is quite happy with her new cage. She climbed right in, I didn't have to worry at all. She loves the extra room and I imagine the fact that with no playtop it is much brighter inside too!! :)

So, I've had this neat program for a very long time. Throughout the years, I've used it for basic cropping, sizing and adjustments. But lately, I've had a desire to move on to the more complicated functions. Filters, levels etc.

So this morn, I saw this adorable Syd and Anni pic and thought to balance Anni's white. This was the best I could muster. Anyone else have Adobe experience?

i got a cockatiel from someone who didnt have time for him anymore. this make bird #7 for me!

his name is pete, but she kept saying "pretty boy" to him all the time, so he probably thinks that's his name, lol. he's a very sweet bird, and gets along with my other 'tiel with no problems. he says "pretty boy" and makes kissing sounds. he's 4.5 yrs old.

Hey guys, don't know if any one still remembers me, haha. :D I used to be pretty active when Santus ( My three and a half year old CAG) and I were first getting to know one another, but we've fallen in pretty well together I must say.

Santus is a joy, truly. He's been completely cage free for, well, months now, and has two well stocked play-gyms, and pretty much full run of the house, with supervision of course. I can't say if there's a major difference between when we had the cage and now, but that's mainly because we barely used it anyway. He's also got a nice little sleeping cage in my room, which he took to without a hitch.

He's about three and a half years old now, and there are no real behavioral problems to speak of. He's not a biter or a screamer( well, except occasionally while playing) and will sit with me for hours just getting his head scritched, or watching me make food or read or do work or et cetera, as long as he gets individual attention every few minuets haha. He'll also jump off his stand to find me, and likes to be in the middle of everything we do in the house. He's not really friendly with every one, but he tolerates getting picked up off the ground by every one atleast, and hasn't really bitten anyone, though he nips and squeeze pretty tight sometimes ( No blood, though!)

His vocab keeps growing too, and he just picks up words here and there, and kinda rotates with his favorite phrases. Right now it's: "Where's Sanctus, Where's Sanctus? (Then he does a cute little gasp/intake of breath sound) Peek-a-boo!" In his little high pitched voice, it's very adorable. Haha, if you ask him "Where's Sanctus" he'll go ahead and do the rest. He's also very good at saying "Want Some", whenever he wants some piece of food I happen to be eating.

He's not a big toy player, unfortunately, though I pick up new things and rotate them into his stands, he only occasionally really gets into playing with toys. He likes ripping things to shreds though, so he gets plenty of paper to shred, and I give him most of his crunchy foods in one of those Creative Foraging things, which keeps him entertained. Most of the time he just climbs, or swings, and talks and whistles.

He's also not much into baths, or showers, and tolerates getting misted, and only enjoys it sometimes. He'll randomly get in the mood to get wet, and start splashing in his water bowl to let me know to douse him in some water, but only rarely haha.

I think the last time I posted asking for advice on when Sanctus cracked his beak. We brought him to the vet soon after that, and they gave him a full check-up while we were there. Every thing checked out fine, and they said his health was great. And, thankfully, the crack wasn't deep or serious.

I'm glad to report he hasn't done that since, but he occasionally cuts or scratches his face when he flies off his perch. It's been around two years, and he only has flight feathers on one wing. How long does it take to molt and grow them back anyway? I'm planning on trying him out unclipped, and if there are no serious issues, keeping him that way.

I also want to get him used to the harness, and perhaps get him out of the house sometimes, though I'm still a bit nervous of the idea of bringing him about places (Like to a friend's or something), let alone being outside.
As of now he's only been out of the house in a crate to trips to the vet, or sitting beside an open window ( With screen, of course). Thoughts on bringing him out? He doesn't really know "Tricks" or anything (Besides the essentials of Step Up, Step Off, Come Here), and don't really know where to start even if I wanted to. :P

Anywho! Sorry for the lengthy post, but I just really do adore him :D

On a distance of 4 metres I have taken from the flight 12 standard pictures. Today I have succeeded in taking up a small High speed video (in slow motion and without tone). It is only short, but I could take up it after X attempts, optimally. I stood behind the camera which was by height of my hip and Kiri landed on my shoulder.

here are some recentish pics of my 4 monsters

first off is Kenshin, a timneth african grey. he is a mama's boy litteraly.. he runs to me if he gets frightened. he turned 1 year on may 1st.

next up is Victor, my little clown he is a brown throat conure and is my little buddie. he would spend all day with me and go everywhere if i would let him. and has a massive ego lol he is only 2 1/2 years old. i saved him from what would have been a terrible death at a petco when he was only 3 1/2 4 weeks old . he was severly underweight and sick.

next up is Mischief and her name fits her perfectly lol. she is a blue parrotlet. and only 11 months old. she has alot of spirit in that little blue body and loves to hang upside down lol

and last but not least, the evilest little bird ever!! meet trouble a cute little budgie who loves to bite... lol she is a doll though and i still love her.

The Late African Grey Tonto

Hey everyone. I just thought I'd share some photos of my african grey parrot who passed away early this year. It was sad for everyone in my family, as he was a great bird. We realized he was getting sick (He stayed in one spot of his cage all day, and wasn't very aware of people around him like usually. One eye would be closed, another one would be kept open at times.) When we arrived home from a trip to the movies to take Tonto to the vet, it was too late. :(

Anyway, sorry for the downer of the day. These photos I took of Tonto are pretty good, and I have a countless number of video clips of him.

Well, yesterday Mango came home to join my flock. Mango is a white wing parakeet (Brotogeris versicolurus). As you guys know I already have Kiwi, a canary wing parakeet (Brotogeris chiriri), and have been looking for a companion for him for quite a while. When i found Mango he was shipped as a canary wing parakeet (which technically is correct but a somewhat outdated term as yellow chevrons are the nominate canary wing parakeet while white wings which look nearly identical when not in flight are no longer referred to as canary wings. The biggest difference is white wings (as their name suggests) have some white primary feathers where as canary wings do not. Anyhow, Mango is quite the little cutie. He has taken to mimicking kiwi and begging to be with me 24-7. He did not want to go to bed last night and he was not interested in meeting any of the other birds. He LOVES to snuggle, steps up super well, and eats ANYTHING he can :) He has also taken to destroying our newest fish magazine so we have found him a substitute toy instead. Below are some pics i have taken today, he sure is quite a sweet little fluff ball.

Winter my new Bird Friend. He moved in with me on monday the 12th. Shy bit skittery tho.
When I get too close to the cage he will stop and just stare at me. Not move much. I've got a chair that I sit at and hold my hand up to the cage for a little bit at a time so he can get used to it.

i was playing with the camera and the birds today, next thing you know, lots of new birdie pics.

me and marley. he loves to sit in my shirt while i scratch his little head through the shirt. he had popped his little head out to see what was going on.

this is little marley going back into the shirt for more head scratches. nothin' cuter than a little yellow birdy booty staring at ya!

skittles playing on her back on the back of the sofa. she will chew on mr.bear or my hands which ever she gets her big sharp talons into!

we had lots of fun the last two days. i was off, and i don't get two days in a row very often. the birds were in heaven with so much mommy-time. and mommy was enjoying herself too! <grin>

yay! i went shopping yesterday and got lots of wood and pvc and hardware to make some new stuff. so today was great fun! we made some new toys:

we had lots of fun. and all three angels enjoyed playing with their new stuff. as a matter of fact, it is quieter here tonite than i remember any evening in the last 3 weeks! lol! nothing better than a bunch of tired and satisfied birdies! <grin>

you know, i've had this camera since '07. but i could never get it to take clear pics without the flash. dur! i just had to put it on manual! so here are some pics i took once i got done with settings:

bath time with the steptoe's

was cleaning house and skittles decided it's a great day for a good soaking bath. marley agreed. twiggy choose to bathe in her water dish and declined photos, little diva! lol!

i got my shower for the day too. and the bathroom. and the hallway. <grin> skittles reeeeeelly enjoyed the bath today. she just sat under the stream with her wing open letting the water run down her armpit! then she would climb up the shower curtian and flap me do death! then she would soak the other armpit. then up the curtain again. waaaay too much fun.

little marley would not stay still. this is the most stationary he was after the bath. today was the first time he decided to shower like a big bird in the real shower. he would run down my arm play in the spray and run back up by my head. then he did the run through the stream like a kid with a sprinkler about 3 times. it was just the cutest thing!

if i can figure out how to post video i got one of skittles singing to "Rockstar" and dancing today! i play music when i clean. <grin>
