It's very cute.

Anyway, I've noticed my 'teils aren't fans of anything watery ( Like Fruit, for example), but they do love their veggies.

Bird loves plain old romaine, and the girls like broccoli tops, and my little Gim'll eat any veggie.

=P

And they don't technically eat it, but they adore ripping kernels off of uncooked corn. I get them the Indian ( The ones with pretty colors and patterns) corn during the fall, and they never get tired of it.

RE: Favorite "Natural" Foods??

Ohhhhh my some of you have a TON of birds! Mildly jealous haha.. Mine are enough work alone! Um.. I switched both my birds to a pelletted diet.. and finally they both started eating it. I am working on fruits and veggies. I give them the Lafabers fruit and veggie seed ball things.. and I bought a bad of basically trail mix for birds. I started mixing it with seeds and they have caught on and started eating that too. Is that enough? Can they get any nutrients out the trail mix? There are raisins, pineapples, nuts.. whole bunch of stuff. I am going to start mixing that with fresh stuff soon too.. Any input? Please let me know. OHHH and one more thing.. what exactly does "fid" mean? I understand its bird.. but how? AHH? Heh..

RE: Favorite "Natural" Foods??

K&T Dad.. If "natural" means non-processed and plant material that a bird would have access to in the wild, then my list is below.

Based on my definition of "natural" above and what I observe Pepper eating first out of his bowl of food I’d say his favorites are:
Soy Beans (beans only, out of the pods)
Broccoli
Sugar Snap Peas
Sweet Potato
Almonds
Cherries
His seed mix (it’s made of natural foods, though they’re not naturally found together)

Since I weigh Pepper every day, I’m able to see patterns. Every morning after I either fill Pepper’s seed bowl with fresh seed mix or feed him Soy Beans, he always has a three to four gram weight gain. So I guess based on this observations Soy Beans and fresh seed mix are his favorite “natural” foods.

RE: Favorite "Natural" Foods??

K&T Dad... !$@#!$@!
