Okay i got some formula for cheerio a while ago but was wondering when i made to much for the second time if Mystic could eat some as a treat?? Or is it unhealthy since there immune system and stuff is probably different. Oh and Mystic will be 5 in april if age matters.

Generally speaking, one hand feeding formula is made for all species.... except where macaws and cockatoos come in who may require the higher fat hand feeding formula... And if it's any consolation, Charlie is 14 years old and he still loves hand feeding formula! Or rather, anything off of a spoon, from a syringe, or otherwise....

Handfeeding formulas are made for babies and, as such, they are very high in protein which is not really good for our birds BUT a little taste every now and then as long as the bird is a healthy eater (greens, veggies and fruits on a daily basis) won't hurt.

I mixed a little with some of her pellets and she loved it!! She normally chooses seed and veggies over her pellets but now she eating them like a pig. Just a little treat for the baby!
