Dickens was laid to rest on Sunday. The strangest thing happened when I was burying her. There were 3 little goldfinches perched on the edge of my roof right up above where I was digging for her grave. They never even moved while I was digging-they just stayed there until I was finished twittering and fussing amoungst themselves the way goldfinches do. After the "funeral" was over they flew over to the birdfeeder! When I went into the house the radio (I leave it on for my fids) started playing "Tears in Heaven" (Eric Clapton). I lost it a little then but my little lovebird started playing and carrying on -I think she did it on purpose! I just love my little flock! i bet they were being respectful and knew exactly what you were doing! it was a message from heaven to let you know that Dickens is happy and waiting for you and your flock over on the other side! as for your lovebird he probably knew that you were sad and wanted to cheer you up!! birds, as well as other animals, are very smart and can tell when their parents are upset!! i hope you and your flock find peace in one another and knowing that she had a very good life!! RIP Dickens!!

FOREVER IN OUR HEARTS!!! RIP MAMA AND DADDY!!!

RIP Dickens!! Thank you very much for your thoughts! I have a new baby now-Oliver -an English budgie. While all birds are different and cannot replace Dickens he is helping me get over losing her. He is quite a character!
