We will be going to Daytona for about three weeks. We will be boarding Lucy our panama amazon at the pet shop were we got her. She was there before for a couple of days but never for this long. Do you guys think this is going to be a major problem when we get back or not. They said she will act differnt but do you think she will not want to bother with us or be nasty to us or maybe just take a little while to get her trust back.

Thanks in advance for any advise and sorry if i posted at the wrong spot

Honestly, every time I walk into the store I got Gus Gus at, he always remembers the staff members and makes this huge greeting scream. Though I don't leave him there overnight, he never changes.

As long as they take good care of him and continue any behavioural things, or routines that you started, it should be fine. He'll probably be a little upset when you leave him, he'll start getting used to it and then you'll come back and he'll probably be a little upset with you, but it should *crosses fingers* quickly fade away. I've never boarded a bird, so hopefully somebody will comment back!

As long as nothing traumatizing or life changing happens, you should be gold =) Good luck! Hopefully somebody who has boarded could share their experiences!

she may be a bit mad at you for a while when you come home. she may try to push your buttons and test your love and ability to have the position of leader of the flock. but she will get over it and fall back into the old relationship she had with you before as long as you do the same.
It may even be better since she will learn that you can leave and will come back and still love her.
